“Houston is the energy capital of the world,” said Robert Triscoli, general manager of Bornemann’s U.S. operations. “While we’re no stranger to the U.S., our new location underscores the commitment we are making to this market. Our long history and leading technology make us an integral part of the energy solution.”

While traditional oil and gas production involves separating oil and gas mixtures at the source, Bornemann’s multiphase pumps allow for oil and gas to be moved together in one pipeline.
This is possible through twin-screw technology, which allows for multiphase pumps to operate through positive displacement instead of centrifugal force. The result is more efficient, environmentally friendly and safer than traditional methods – onshore, offshore and subsea.
“It’s a fundamentally different philosophy,” said Gero von der Wense, Bornemann chief executive officer. “Our pumps have a higher recovery rate and a smaller footprint. And they are part of a process that has fewer parts, and therefore less potential for failure.”
Drawing on this same proven technology, Bornemann is developing a deepwater vacuum cleaner that could clean up spills such as the recent one in the Gulf of Mexico. Bornemann believes its device could handle the oil and gas mixtures that slowed the cleanup of last year’s mishap.
