An investment in the future – with a new construction for the housing manufacturing plant in Obernkirchen
Consistent implementation of the corporate strategy and increasing demands of large pump systems have led to the decision for a new construction project in Obernkirchen. The demands on products and processes for the oil and gas industry have continuously increased, so that the handling does not only require highly qualified technical personal from the construction through to the final completion, but also optimal manufacturing conditions.
The goal is to reduce the throughput times and to manufacture at production costs in line with the market. A project team under the management of Helge Hiddensen was assigned to fundamentally investigate the production processes for the housing of the Bornemann pumps.
The main goal was to create modern and secure jobs “Made by Bornemann” – jobs that would justify the commercial viability of manufacturing in Oberkirchen. “We want to grow at this location and use and further develop our employees’ qualifications. Under these preconditions, the planning of the new construction, which optimally reflects the manufacturing process, was developed. But even the burden on our employees and the environment will be significantly reduced. We have a responsibility and we are very serious about it,” said Oliver Best, manufacturing manager and member of the board of management.
Reliable sound insulation and a highly efficient welding gas exhaust are just as self-evident as environmental and landscape protection. Even the energy efficiency is exemplary: with a 450 m2 large photovoltaic system, Bornemann can cover a portion of its energy requirements. In addition, the outstanding building insulation undercuts the currently valid energy saving requirements by a total of 20%.
Helge Hiddensen, who, with his team, is managing the project through to the final commissioning, says: “I am very proud that the new hall is, first and foremost, aligned toward modernism, workplace security and functionality, and I am certain that the housing manufacturing will bring, beginning in the spring of 2012, new impulses to the valued Bornemann quality.” « back
